I’m home with a sick kiddo today. He’s wiped out. Spent. Beat.
I guess we played a little too hard this weekend.
Can kiddo’s get fun hangovers? If they can, I think he has one.
But, he isn’t too spent to dream up his latest favorite smoothie concoction, chock full of fruits and veggies to kick any fun hangover in the butt.
Blueberry Banana Smoothie
1 banana
1 large handful fresh spinach
1 large handful frozen blueberries
1 large handful ice cubes
About 1/2 cup coconut milk
1 teaspoon (or so) cinnamon
Throw it all in a blender and whizz it up. Add more coconut milk if it’s too thick.

Great photos! I do think we can overdose from fun. Kids, adults, and dogs. When we take the dog camping, he has so much fun that he comes home and vegetates for a day or two. 😉 Love the smoothie as I’ve been in the blueberry banana routine myself of late!

Thanks Shirley. Yah, we’ve been going non-stop all summer. I think he just hit a big brick wall. We’re going camping this weekend, so I hope he bounces back before then!
This is almost identical to my favorite smoothie! I often add flaxseed for fun and use a full cup of blueberries, but otherwise the same.
Honestly, we didn’t measure the blueberries – just dumped some in. I never measure with smoothies. It’s totally an eyeball it thing for me. I just love that he asks for spinach smoothies. And whatever else goes in with the spinach is kind of okay with me. 🙂

Such a cute post; love those summer smoothies! This one looks delish. Perfect for a morning refresher or an afternoon treat!
LOVE your blog – and I have Fun Hangovers, too!
we have been overdosing on blueberry smoothies this summer. I make ours with kale and dandelion–YUMMO.
Your son is beautiful!

Yum, thanks for sharing this recipe with me, Deanna 🙂 Coconut milk + smoothies were made for one another!
Coconut milk is the kiddo’s thing. I rarely use it when I make them for me. But yes, it does make for a rich & creamy smoothie! 🙂
Why the Spinach, It sounds strange to me?
Spinach is really healthy, and it really disappears in the smoothie. So you get all the nutrition without the taste.
